A boardroom is a meeting room used for meetings between the company’s Board of Directors and the senior management. These meetings are used to discuss important topics and the board is accountable for ensuring that the company’s decisions are made in accordance with shareholders’ interests. In spoken communication, ‘boardrooms are also a reference to activities that are believed to be occurring in the boardroom of a business organization however they are not actually held in one.

A boardroom can be found in any building but is typically located within corporate offices. It can accommodate up to twenty people and is typically equipped with large touchscreens that allow visual presentations during meetings. The agenda is typically given out in advance to ensure that attendees are aware of what is expected.

The majority of boardrooms have storage cabinets which can be used to store different kinds of audio-visual equipment, even when not being used. A typical boardroom will have a doc camera, Blu ray player, and LCD display. Based on the dimensions and layout of the boardroom, it may be necessary for several screens to be installed along with an Extron DVS605 Plus scaling switcher to accommodate different sources. Most boardrooms have video conference equipment that allows attendees to join the conference from outside the meeting room.
